Veteran's Benefits
In August 2011, Veterans will be able to use their Post 9/11 benefits to cover 100 percent of a Private Pilot Certificate.
NAFC is approved by the Maryland State Approving Agency to offer Veteran Benefits through the Montgomery GI Bill® and Post 9/11 Bill in association with a degree program. A Veteran may use his or her benefits for flight training and be reimbursed up to 60 percent of the flight training costs under the Montgomery GI Bill®. The NAFC is associated with CCBC. Students enrolled in CCBC’s Air Traffic Control, Flight Management or Flight Training may receive their flight training for a certificate or rating utilizing the Part 141 Jeppesen Syllabi at NAFC. Under the Post 9/11 Bill, Veterans will be reimbursed 100 percent when associated with CCBC.
NAFC is currently approved for the Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot Rating, Commercial Pilot-Single-engine land, Multi-engine land Ratings, Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument.
To be eligible you must have at least a Class 2 medical. Veterans Administration regulations mandate that VA benefits may only be paid to those who hold a First or Second Class Medical Certificate dated within the previous 12 months at the time of the reimbursed training. Therefore, be sure to maintain a First or Second Class Medical Certificate while you are under VA-reimbursable training at NAFC.
